Default best pistons to use in a b18c1..gs-r motor for those who dont know.

I am currently going all motor. right now i have the basics.(AEM short Ram,2.25 exhaust,MSD ignition,DC sport headers, and next is skunk2 intake mani, and v-afc.) .I was told , and have also heard to use B16 pistons :" because the offset on the pistion will yeild higher compression" . But of course I know as a fact that TYPE-R pistons will work of course..but (a) is the b16 part right?(b) if it is, is it the best bang for all motor or will i be better of with the TYPE-R pistons?(i have a 94 TEG. GSR)

the CTR pistons will yield a higher compression than type R
just check this site out

pr3 or p30
i think ctr's are too high cr if your car is going to run 91 octane and is not going to be tuned like most ppl

Go with Type R because you will not want to buy 97 octane to run with your CTR pistons, the compression will be too high for daily driving.

If your going to stay all motor ur gonna want higher compression. like 10 to 1 or maybe 9 1/2 to one. and if you go turbo later u can just buy a thicker head gasket to reduce the compression without replacing the pistons. I would go with a JE piston.

seriously what are you talking about I have a 2000 gsr and i am running 91 octane rigth now I also have the stage II skunk cams I ran a 13.9 at 101 my last track event ctr pistons will be fine as long as tou tune your car and run 100 octane at the track

[Intake]
J's Racing CF Intake or Comptech Icebox

[Header]
Anything big and long tube, 2.5" collector is a must

[Intake Manifold]
I'd say port yours and do P&P the head while you're at it...go skunk if you want but buy cams first

[Cams]
Anything matched to your compression (Jun3, EF-1/Rocket's M24, etc.)

[Pistons]
CTR or beefier...get rods while you're doing that. And while you're doing that you might as well go 2.0litre

[Exhaust]
2.5" for anything from ~195-235hp

exhausts 2.25" are wayyyy too small.

a stock gs-r sees big horsepower from going to a 60mm 2.38" exhaust.
