How to tell a real Skunk2 double bend short shifter.
I picked up used and cheap double bend "Supposedly" Skunk2 short shifter for a 90 CRX from some guy. It looks just like that which is on the Skunk2 website, but anyone know how you can tell for sure? My bud said the Skunk2 stickers were known to fall off on the older S.S.'s Just curious.
i have a single bend skunk unit thats a few years old and i'd say the only true way would be the sticker. I have a tough time believing that the sticker would fall off without any signs of it being there. Its on there pretty well. other than that i dunno??? maybe the color of it??? that greyish kinda thing goin on
well the skunk2 are heavy..and made of steel and not alum..
All of the cheap short shifters I have seen are alum.

Sorry to hi-jack, but should just about "any" steel short shifter be reliable/sturdy?? What material(s) should I stay away from??

for you ef owners with a dual bend ss, when in fifth gear does it make noise because of vibration from the exhaust piping? just wondering cause mine does at times.
Hey Therapy, you bought it off of me! I shipped it out today. The shifter does look alot like that picture, but I am not sure if it really is a Skunk2.
yeah, my skunk2 ss vibrated because of the exhaust piping on my 91 si. its just the counterweight on the end of the shift linkage touching the exhaust. just dremel it off and it won't vibrate anymore. and for the skunk2 ss, when i bought mine, you get the shifter with the sticker but it's not put on yet. so they won't all have them put on the actual shifter.
