Default problem hooking up my Kendwood deck

my friend gave me his Kendwood deck. and i know that the power wires are the "ACC" wire and the "POWER" wire. but when i connect all the right wires together. it doesn't work. it only works when i connect the "red" and "yellow" wire together from my deck to the "power" wire on the car. but when i do this, it doesn't save my memory on my deck when my car is off. what's wrong here...???????

the ACC (yellow wire) is used to run the radio.
the power (red wire) only powers the clock and the memory.

sounds to me like there is no power on the power wire, check your radiofuse.
if the fuse is OK, the easiest way to fix this is the run a new fused wires from your battery to your radio.

You probably blew a fuse on the power wire.

try testing for voltage at the HU.
a voltmeter would be easy. but you could also do it with 2 pieces of wire and a 12 testlamp.
