Default Need new hydrolic clutch...

My clutch has been acting up, I figured out it is either my hydrolic master or slave cylinder, but which one? When engine is cold, I cannot shift into ANY gear. Sometimes, also when engine cold, the clutch pedal sticks to the floor for a few seconds. It slipped gears about twice. This is how I figured. I hope I am right, please tell me what you think. How should I go about checking? Leaks? Thanks...

Before spending any money, bleed the clutch and check the pedal height. Check right above the gas pedal for any fluid coming from the clutch MC. Pull back the dust boot on the slave cylinder and check for a fluid leak. Hopefully it's not the clutch itself.

If you need a master cylinder, I have my old one that I'll replace the seals in and give you for cheap.

Check your fluids first. If they are okay, check your Master Cyclinder and Slave Cyclinder to see if they are still good.

Both master and slave cylinders are in front of the firewall, above pedals? Sure, if I need a new cylinder, I'll buy if off ya, thanks. Cheap right?

The MC is above gas pedal, the slave cylinder is on the front of the tranny, It has a rubber hose connected to it by a banjo bolt.

Just let me know if you need that MC, it's not going anywhere.

I have been looking beyond the obivious. I checked the fluid, it was almost dry. Filled up with DOT 3, feels better. Once I filled up, black gunk flowed up. Since there was not much fluid, I take it that the MC is leaking. So I will probably need to replace soon. I am still kindof concerned that I cannot put my car into gear until it is warmed up. Kindof werid, I plan on changing the tranny fluid this week, but technicaly that doesn't matter much, from what I learned the problem is the clutch, or parts of. Thanks for all the help guys...

Ok, I ordered a new Master cylinder. Sorry clockworks, I want to buy yours but it will take long on shipping and stuff. I am hoping it is the Master, not slave... I will keep you posted on how it turns out. Until' then, does anyone still know why my I cannot shift into gear when engine is cold? Thanks...
