Automatic transmission...grinding noise :\
Lately whenever I try to put in Reverse, sometimes it will not engage & starts grinding then boom, the gear will finally settle before I can back out. Also, when the engine is cold, going from 30-40mph going forward, when the gear shifts, it slightly hits a high rpm for a second before changing into a higher gear.
Can I assume my transmission is going out? This morning it sounded like the reverse never wanted to engage

on the tranny its bad go to ricer zone and buy this stuff called trick shift, about 14 quts. go to jiffy lube and get the auto tranny flush with that stuff. it sounds expensive but its alot cheaper than having to buy a tranny. try it out and let me know how it works. i heard this **** kicks serious *** for trouble trannies....

Try changing your ATF and see how it helps. Also, having your tranny flushed using a T-Tec type machine at Jiffy Lube may be harmful for your transmission. In fact Honda/Acura specifically recommends Not to have your transmission flushed, but instead a "triple flush" in which the ATF is drained and refilled 3 times.
Lastly, I use a product called Auto-RX in my oil and will be using it in my transmission.
