Whining noise when decelerating
When the car is pretty much warmed up and I am coasting from like 30 mph and go to put it into first gear before I am completly stopped the car whines. It doesn't do it all the time. It happens when your putting it into first but holding the shifter right where it gets stiff ( right before it enters the gear ) does anyone know what this whining is and how to fix it.

Re: Whining noise when decelerating (Mario.)
It is the first gear syncro trying to match the speed of the engine and transmission. you cant fix it, the only way to make it go away is to stop doing it

I would say forcing your car into gear when it really doesnt want to is probably not the best for it.
Stop and go traffic.
I have this same problem with my EX, except it doesnt whine, it just sucks when you are going, stopping, going 10 more feet stopping, then maybe you dont come to a total stop and the cars ahead of you keep going again. Your in neutral, and your WAAYY too slow for 2nd unless you just wanna dog the motor, and too fast to smoothly shift into first. I find what helps is to just goose the throttle a little, I usually dont even get it to 1500-2000 rpms before it will slide in smoothly. This isnt rolling at 10mph, but rather just at that second before you come to a complete stop.
God I hate stop and go/traffic light traffic.
