need help identifying my motor
i recently got a swap to my 99 civic ex.. the dood say its a jdm b18c5 but when i look at the block it just say b18c... so im thinking it could be a gs-r bottom end and si head and the tranny is lsd... what should i be looking for to see what it really is..i know i can take of the head to se if it bore inside but any other suggestion would be greatly aprriciated..
The head would be a si or R if it has pr3 stamped into it...I think to check to see if you have lsd, you can jack up ur car and spin one wheel to see if the other one spins too...im not to sure on that or if that is the correct process....Im sure the jdm masta out there can help u out
First of all JDM "GSR" and ITR motors have the stamp B18C.
Things to check for:
1) intake manifold/throttle body
2)valve cover
3)pr3-x
4)exhaust manifold
5)tranny gearing
6)96 vs 98 spec itr (few changes)
