Championship White Paint
I know this topic came up before in regards to NH-0 spraypaint and such - did anyone ever get a line on some?
I just scraped the living hell out of my chin spoiler
and I want an option other than replacing it. Suffice it to say, "touch up" paint wouldn't do the job.

I think there was a place that could give you any factory color in a spray can...
If you can't find it on here doing a search I'll dig up the thread/ link for you... This topic came up recently...

Fill in the scrape by Building up touch up paint on the scraped area so that its slightly higher than the surrounding paint.
Let it dry a day
Then wet sand it with 800-1000 grit
Compound and Wax
Looks like new if done correctly.

Take a visit to your local body shops, many have the computer program that lets them know how much of what color to mix and it comes out close to perfect. (Nothing is totally perfect not even the NHO from Acura)

Bad idea, that will not work. Touch it up, hit it with sandpaper and the paint will come right off. Besides, if there is no clearcoat, once you hit it with compound the paint will come off also. Instead of doing it half assed, take it to a reputable body shop and have the scratches on the lip sanded smooth, then prime it block it and paint it. Now you have a properly repaired lip spoiler.
Btw, I am a autobody painter by trade.

NH-0 doesn't match my car's paint!!! someone scraped my rear bumper a few weeks ago, so I went to the dealer to get some touch up paint. after I applied it, the color was way off. The color of my car looks alot brighter then the touch-up paint. my car looks like crap from the back now............
For Canada, it's supposed to be CANH-O. There should be a reason why Honda would label it differently. Maybe that's why you're seeing a difference although touch-up paint usually never matches due to environmental effects such as UV exposure.

Usally Canada and the Us paint codes are the same. Europe is different. It's the right paint code, the reason the color isn't matching is there are probly different variances. For example every paint code usually has different variances to choose from, like there may be a redder, greener, yellower or darker then primer or lighter then primer. You usally have to spray a test panel to match and tint your color. Paint usually dosen't match so you tint it to match. Unless it's black but even then you sometimes have to tint it. So what I'm saying is your going to have to tint the color to match you paint. So take it to a body shop so they can do it right.

As long as its not a huge area and only a small one it will be fine this way.
Also I should have specified that you should take the paint and mix it with some clear coat and hardner. then apply.
PS It would look better than spraying it with a spray can. And obviously I would reccomend just repainting the whole piece but the guy doesnt want to do that thats wgy he is asking for touch up.
Thanks all...
I reckon I won't half-455 it... it is, after all, a Type R. I was thinking it was a bit beat up, anyway...
A&H wants $355 shipped - the dealer wants $402...
I was told this came without the hardware (not a problem), but is there also some double stick tape used to mount the chin spoiler?
I figure I'll take it to a good body shop and get the cost on R&R, prep and paint to see if it's competative.

CANH-0? My door panel only says NH-0......ya..true, the color difference may be due to enironment effects. My friend has a 97 R, and when we park side by side, mine looks frost white while his is more yellowish.
If anyone has the part number for the front spoiler for a 97 R and/or some CW touch-up they're willing to part with, please post the part#or IM me. I've been touching up my front spoiler for years, luckily I haven't really smacked/cracked it (yet)!
Thanks, ED.
Thanks, ED.
CW is the hardest color to match. I was going to put an OEM kit on my R, but decided not too because of the paint...
I got a scratch/cut in my rear bumper cover very early in my ITR's life. I took it to my insurance company's (Nationwide - they rule if you can get them... there is another thread on the topic) recommended shop; they R&R'd it, gelcote'd it, and painted it and it's F*ing >>perfect<<.
In regards to the comments about touch-up and spraypaint... that, too is technique. I've seen the proper prep-paint-sand-clearcoat jobs that are invisible to the eye and touch. You don't use touch-up paint like "white out".
Lets say I was to get the JDM Type R conversion, we all know that it's pre-painted CW, would it be hard to match that color if the body shop were to re-paint my car CW.
I plan on doing this as soon as I get the conversion, but my car is currently dark forest green, so would it be better to have it re-painted CW or just have the front clip (hood, fenders, bumper) painted dark forest green? TIA

Not all kits come in CW, sometimes its just random colors, the only painted parts are front bumper, chin spoiler, and grille. theres no need to repaint the whole car CW, just paint the front end Forest Green, unless you want your whole car repainted
