Automatic / Manual ECU Questions for OBD2b
Ok, I got a question and I hope someone can help me out. obd2b (2001) ecu for manual is 3 plugs and automatics are 4 plugs. Is all the plugs the same on the first 3 plugs for BOTH automatics and manual ecus? What is the last plug in the automatics use for and is there some wires on the 4th plug of an automatic wiring that is needed in manuals? Please help me out.
I'm asking bc I recently did an auto to manual swap in a 01 LS and I'm trying to swap to an obd1 ecu and I'm having problems reving pass 6K rpm with the obd1 ecu but if I use my obd2b automatic ecu I can rev just fine up to redline (I get automatic check light).

First of all did you use a harness conversion for your obd2-obd1 setup? If not you should use a obd2-obd1 conversion harness when you want to use the obd1 ecu. Another thing is to make sure that you bought an obd1 ecu for manual transmission and not for auto because that does make a big difference.

yes i use the harness (skunk2 obd2b to obd1 harness) and yes it's manual ecu. I recieve no check lite with the obd1 ls ecu but cant rev pass 6K without feeling like it's hitting a brick wall.
