I think it's for the chime. The chime is bolted to the stamped steel plate that covers the bottom of the steering shaft by your knees.

The only way to find out is getting the wiring schematics for that part of the car.
Helms manual, maybe?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by sackdz &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I think it's for the chime. The chime is bolted to the stamped steel plate that covers the bottom of the steering shaft by your knees.</TD></TR></TABLE>

speaking of which, is that plate "important" ? ... I took it out...

I figure it's for collisions or something.

As for the connector, I don't think mine is connected either.

what colors are the wires?

and the stripes on them. I can look it up in the helms.

also i have a PDF of the helms manual, PM me if you want a copy

without more info here are the 2 pin connectors that it could be:

1. Roof wire harness {C663}
2. Clutch interlock switch
3. Clutch switch (With cruise control)
4. Brake switch without cruise
