could be brake switch, chime, maybe optional security stuff that isnt needed in US car..

I think it's for the chime. The chime is bolted to the stamped steel plate that covers the bottom of the steering shaft by your knees.

hrmm.. are you talking about the door ajar chime when the key is in the ignition? if so the chime still works

The only way to find out is getting the wiring schematics for that part of the car.

speaking of which, is that plate "important" ? ... I took it out... I figure it's for collisions or something. As for the connector, I don't think mine is connected either. |
what colors are the wires?
and the stripes on them. I can look it up in the helms. also i have a PDF of the helms manual, PM me if you want a copy without more info here are the 2 pin connectors that it could be: 1. im thinking it could be clutch switch. there are 2 wires that go to the connector, one is black and one is red
