Default SPORT SHIFT, shifting hard and late

Has anyone experienced this with their 5th gen sprt shift Lude? It's odd but in the mornings when the engine and trans are cold shifting from first to 2nd gear hits soooooooo hard (almost like slamming gears on a manual trans), but when the car warms up it goes away.

If anyone has encountered this situation how did you aleviate the problem????

how many miles on your car?

could be a sign that it's about to fall apart and die on you.

with that POS tranny i wouldn't be surprised.

Sounds just like what my car did before the tranny died. I had 35k miles on my SS before the tranny died. Warrenty gave me a brand new one

well, with less than 52k mine went down the drain, so i got a 12 month warranty remanufactured tranny, which is ok, but i would highly recommend all you guys, to start buying part by part for a 5 speed manual swap (im in the process, auto tranny sucks *****)..

good luck with the sport suckmyballs shift tranny.

i have the same issue. here's what i usually do. don't put it in d4 (drive regular mode) when the ccar is cold. drive it with SS mode and use "quick" shifts and try to smooth the shift with throttle. and when coming to a stop, don't "downshift" just let the computer do the automatic down shift. as the car warms up, it'll stop and you can drive on D4

I refused to do anything to repair or replace the SS trans in my girlfriend's '99 lude. It is a 5 speed now. Read here: http://hpoa.org/forumdisplay.php?f=11

Thanks for the replys , Im gonna try to have the whole trans flushed and filter changed . then i will have the fluids replaced with AMSOIL which i heard cleans and smoothens hard shifting auto trans.
