HELP!! suspension install catastrophe!!
exactly as it sounds. while installing my rear struts and springs everything possible went wrong:
-the lower strut but was completely siezed(had to sawzall through 2 sections of the bolt on each side)
-Cant manage to get these bushings/sleeves out of the LCA's
-Cant get one of the lca's off to take it to a shop to get it pressed out.
-cant get nuts off of top of struts for the hardware.
plan
-Cut the struts in half to get hardware off
-Impact the remaining lca bolt off
-hammer/blowtorch bushings out
ohh and i also accidentally cut the electronic abs wire on the rear passanger side.. can i just splice a fresh piece of wire in???
Any ideas? HELP!!!

I had the same problem this is what I did. I bought 2 LCA's 2 new bolts and cut the ******* off you should still be able to take the inside part of the LCA off and drop the whole mess out. Keep in mind that the LCA's are not cheap if you have to get them new from the dealership like I had to. If you have any questions IM me
how the ****............
If it's the rear, you probaby are in luck b/c that's the easy part to work on.
Undo the top of the strut, like you are taking of the spring. Yes while it's on the car. Yes the spring will shoot off in some crazy manner, but it's not that bad and you'll get used to it. (this actually is a good way to get OE springs off)
That should free up the shock to manuver out of the LCA. Use an Impact or 24" breaker bar to get the LCA bolt out.

Hey, quick question for you guys. I"m about to swap out my stock LCAs to put in the ITR ones.
What is the part number for the "bitchin" bolt that everyone is cutting off? Sounds like I should have it just in case so I can replace.
Thanks!

you can also just drop the whole control arm with the suspension attached, go to honda and buy a new bushing and have the old bolt and bushing pressed out and the new one pressed in.( i had to do this once.)

Just a tip for people working on rear suspension, impact is key. An impact wrench will spin those bolts out in no time w/o breaking anything. When you use something like a long breaker bar and put LOTS of sustained torque on those bolts, that's when stuff starts to break.
I just removed my shocks a couple weeks ago for the first time in nearly 2 years, and that was only the 2nd time the shocks have been removed. After 150K miles, the bolts came out very easily w/ PB Blaster and impact wrench.
The first time I removed the shocks, I used a 12V electric impact wrench. It was slow, but it got the bolts out just the same, no problem. The force of the repeated impacts is what helps get the bolts out.
I think you can get a 12V impact wrench at Wal-Mart for maybe $20 or less.
