everytime i rev my motor up to redline wen i race, the check engine light turns on. everytime i check it its a code 22(VTEC OIL PRESSURE SENSOR). i always reset it and drive it normally, but wen i rev up to like 8200-8500 RPMs, the CEL comes on.
Does this happen to other people? wat can be wrong? THANKS

 

the oil pressure switch is either bad or there's a problem with the connection or the wires leading to it. It's the little green plug next to the vtec solenoid.

 

well i did the swap into a 98 civic. wat connection wouldbe bad? i wired one of the wires to da ecu correctly and the other was a ground.

 

Check the switch itself, it nay have gotten damaged before/during the swap. Do you have a helms manual? They provide a complete walkthrough for fixing this cel.

 

try to ground it out somewhere else. i have had this problem with a swap before.

 

this must be a curse or something.... i just fixed the same thing on my car 2 days ago.. the last thing i thought it would be was the ground wire.. sure enough.. it was the ground wire...
