WTB: nylon tubing for boost gauge
I went to Autozone and looked for it like someone recomended, but they didn't have it. Anybody have some to sell? Do they make a type of fitting for this nylon tubing that allows you to T into a rubber line? and also, does the tubing just push into the brass fittin on the back of the gauge or do you have to unscrew it first or something? I bought the gauge used, so I'm not exactly sure...
i just used some tubing and twisted it onto the fitting on the guage.. very easy mod.. works very well also.. i used rubber tubing small... hope that helps
Too bad there's none of them around me... Do you know how much it cost's? B/c I think Autometer sells a kit w/the tubing and a fitting for like $10. So is there a GOOD way to connect the nylon tubing to a rubber vacuum line?

i'm gona be a life saver . . . if you have an autometer gauge go and get a barb fitting from any hardware store only about $1.50, you screw that onto the back of the gauge, and go and get vacuum line from any autostore for about 0.35 a foot figure you spend mybe $3.00 on that, and that's all you need.
THat is exactly what me and all my friends did, and it works perfect! That nylon tubing that comes with the gauge is crap

i find the plastic line to be better than the rubber ones.. rubber can expand and the plastic one wont. if ur doign low psi ull be fine with the rubber one, higher psi might cause the rubber to expand.
anyways, PepBoys has a kit that cost arround $6 fittings, tubing and brass thingis

I still can't find anything to make it work. I went to autozone to look for a barbed fitting, no go. I went to pep boys to look for the kit w/the plastic tubing, no go. What should i do? for 10psi will the rubber line work or will it expand too much?
I kinked my plastic line and needed to get some new stuff. I found mine at A&A but it was like 12 bucks for the pack and it included two fittings and like 10 feet of line. If you still can not find it. I can drive and buy it for you if you want to pay the shipping.

Yeah the gauge will be more accurate

autozone sells the complete nylon tubing kit with the brass fitting that goes into the back of autometer boost gauges. I was there the other day and my friend got pissed cause he spent forever hunting down a kit and they had it hanging right there
To do the scoobymods way, do I NEED to get a barbed fitting, or could i just put the hose over the threads and use a hose clamp? I'm not talking about the big threaded piece that comes out of the gauge, but the first brass fitting that screws onto that, it reduces the thread size, would that be ok, or do you recomend a barbed fitting?
