Need new f22.
This is my first post on hear and I'd like to introduce myself to everyone. I just bought my first car and I am stoked. It is a '91 accord, 5 speed with a stock F22. It runs good and will do the trick until I get myself a new motor. I would like to know if there is someone out there who has or can find me a '94 to '97 F22A1. I believe that is the sohc vtec. That is what I want. I will also settle for a stock '90 to '93 stock motor. Also, if anyone doesn't mind giving me some motor tips, I won't mind admitting I am still a beginner.
f22b1 is the sohc vtec. if the vtec were pointless they would not have included it as an improved design... just cause you dont get 50+ horse and lightspeed with your vtec it is hardly pointless. It makes more power and provides excellent fuel economy still... the accord was not designed or based on an idea of exclusive high performance useage. Soccer moms/ dull corp. dads outnumber the tuner driving accords easily 10-1 keep in mind.
you can buy them for a 1/3 the cost of the h22.... if you can settle for one cam instead of 2. Not hating on the h2 crowd, just my opinion of the f22.

I have a lot of miles and my piston rings are bad. It would be more expensive to replace the rings than to get a stock motor. Also the Vtec motor is if anything, a little more horses and thus making it more worth my time and dollars in tuning. I like H22, but I can't afford it yet.....maybe some day. Thanks for the replays, but no one has a moror yet?
I have a F22 in great condition....email me at accord9004@hotmail.com, we can work something out. There are lots of things that can be done with the F22.

I agree H22SiRaccord, the H22A is a sic sic motor. Everyone knows that. I want to get a reputable sohc motor that no one really does...ya know? Plus it's cheaper. You all can laugh, and probably beat me at the light in your H22's, but we are all honda lovers, and we all want to drive fast. I would give props to a sohc that hauled *****; wouldn't you?
Admit that a built F22 vtec is going to be fast no matter how you slice it.... just not as fast as the H22 obviously.

for an f22 accord to be considered fast, it would have to have alot of money thrown into, if you build it all-motor it's gonna end up costing way more than the h22, if you plan to turbo it than it would be a fairly inexpensive, viable option. if you just want a motor with a few extra ponies, the f22 isnt a bad option, but you'll still be slow unless you use forced induction or spend a shitload going all-motor. if you're going all-motor, and plan to put alot of work into the engine, i'd just save for an h22.
and you don't get props for building a sohc motor, you get props for building a powerful motor, doesn't matter what the base is. just figure out what's gonna be the best option for you.

what all these ppl are saying is:
Speed takes money. How fast do you want to go?
Me... I'll take the $500 f22 motor and play with that.
f22 stock parts? - easy to find & cheap.
turbo parts? - yes & cheaper (w/ a homemade setup)
Will i feel bad if i hand grenade the motor?
h22 - yes
f22 - no

Yeah, I am interested in a motor. The other guy hasn't replied to my email. What are you looking at price wise? Also, I am wondering about that throttle body, intake mani, and header off of the H22 will it fit on my F22 and if so, would it be worth it? Is the throttle body and intake manifold bigger? I'm sure if the header fits, It'd be worth it. If you could email me at gaithbdaywi@yahoo.com.
