F22 into vtec????
I am not a F22 freek... myself along with many others in this world could probably care less about F22's...LoL... but last night I got into an argument with one of my friends who claims that the is such a thing as an F22 SOHC Vtec motor...?????....or possibly a Vtec head that can be riged onto it??.... i believe not, but I am in need of support.
to my knowledge there are two F22 offered for 92-96 Preludes.
One is the F22A1 which is the USDM Prelude S motor
The other is the F22 which is in the JDM 94-96 Pelude Si
Is this JDM motor a 2.2 SOHC vtec?
Did accords come with a F22 soch vtec motor?

H22 were not the only motors in 92-96 prelude... F22 were also placed in Preludes...non-Si models to be exact....yes, F22 can also be found in a Accord.
What i am saying, is that one of my meat head friends (which is exremely book smart) claims that there is a head that can be bolted onto my friends 92-96 Prelude S (F22A1) that would make it a F22 SOHC V-tec
Kinda like and LS/Vtec setup....??
ever seen or heard of a F22 Vtec Setup by swaooing heads?

I think so to Merlin..... but to my knowledge it is NOT a DOHc...it's a SOHC F22 T-tec...
Any knowledge that anyone can add would be well appreciated....
Those comments that were already made are also well appreciated, glad to see some people took some interest it talking about the wonderful F22...just kiddin!... not that wonderful of an engine

The only two cars that the F22 SOHC came in was the Accord's and Prelude S.
The Accord DX/LX has a SOHC non-VTEC version. And the newer 94-97 Accord EX's had the SOHC VTEC version of the F22. I have no idea which one came in the Prelude S? Probably the same non-VTEC version as the DX/LX?
I don't know alot about the F22...but if they're the same block, then most likely you can swap the heads and get a F22 SOHC VTEC. But wouldn't it be easier to just get an engine from an Accord EX? I don't know if the wiring are different or what?....but I'm pretty sure it's similar to the "mini-me" D16 head swaps.
And I think the rest of you are talking about the JDM F20? I believe that's what it's called? It's a de-stroked 2.0L DOHC VTEC version of the H22. But I have no idea why they designated it with an "F" rather than "H"? But I'm never 100% on anything, so sue me if I'm wrong.
