Default Boost Spike. Help Please.

Well I have been hitting boost cut lately. I have 10.15lbs spring in my Tial 40mm Wastegate. For some reason when I go from 5th to 3rd and do a hard pull I will hit boost cut. For some reason it is spiking. I can't seem to figure out why. I have the sideport hooked up to a vacuum port on my SC61 compressor. I run a Full-Race manifold. What else can I check. I checked my BOV, and that seems fine.

I think I may have a exhaust leak, but I don't see how that would cause boost spike. Can someone please explain this to me if that does cause boost spike?

Thanks!

What size pipe do you have coming off the wastegate? Is it venting to atmosphere? or back to the down pipe?

I forgot what size the pipe was coming off the wastegate. It was whatever fit inside the Tial Flange that came with my 40mm Wastegate. If I remember right I used a 1.5 inch diameter pipe which is bent at a 90 degree and goes straight down. I am running a open loop setup.

hook the wastegate vacuum port to your intake manifold not the turbo

I went back to GZ and had them take some timing out and switch me back to Closed Loop. I also had them check out where my boost cut was set at. Well it turns out it was at the stock hondata setting which is 11.2lbs. I have a 10.15 wastegate spring and it actually regulates everything at about 11.

Try setting boost cut to 12psi or so. I always get a little spike also, so i just set like 1-2 psi over what i normally run.

They set it to 14 I believe. That should be good.
