help! check engine!
hi guys, i have a b16 in my 1990 civic hatch, today while driving, my check engine light came on, i checked out the codes, adn it throws 6 and 9. ECT sensor and cyp, what is it? and how can i fix the problem? my car seem to drive normal..help thanks
ECT is the engine coolant temp sensor and the CYP is the cylinder position sensor. The ECT is located on the side of the head, below the distributor. It has a similar looking plug as the air intake temp sensor. The cylinder position sensor is located in the distributor. The ECT can be changed fairly easily, however unless you are familiar with the inner workings of a distributor, the easiest way to fix the code 9 is to find a replacement distributor.
eh, it's not a good idea, I'd fix it as soon as possible, just because those two sensors are kind of important. And besides, the car will run like crap until you do (limp mode ECU = poor performance).

its running like normal, only the check engine light is on, but i seem to stumble across another problem, this time a even worst worst nightmare problem, ive been having these noise ever since, i put in my cf hood, its a clunking noise, at first i thought it was my engine hitting the hood, but today it got even worst, so worst that every time i gassed, my shift moves forward, and when i let go, it makes a clunking noise like somehting was hitting, so i checked it out, and came to realize that the frame that the tranny mount bolts onto is cracked....damn problems after problems....what to do?
I'm assuming that you are talking about the rear-crossmember. I think the only remedy for this would be to replace it. It won't be easy and it won't be fun, but it will be your safest route to take. But depending on how severe the damage is, maybe you could get it welded up. I would replace the crossmember though.
