CODE 22...its annoying already.
Hey guys I had this posted in the FI board but not to many saw this problem I guess... Can any of you guys help me please.... Here is what I posted..
Ok here's the problem. When I start the car I get a code 22 which results to me bogging if I go into vtec. So far I have checked all resistances and voltages and they checked in clear, I replaced spool valve filter and also o-ring gasket between solenoid and vtec assembly, also checked for free play on pillar inside assembly and all was well. The deal is when I shut the car back down after heating it up reset the ECU and the code was gone and will usually only comes back when the car is cold again. Have any of you seen this or may know what my problem is.. 115 bucks for a new solenoid from the dealer is fine but I don't want to waste the cash if it isn't necessary as opposed for 25 bucks for a new pressure switch.. Any clues amigos? Thanks in advance and hope you guys can help..

code 22 = vtec solenoid not engaging (correct me if im wrong)
first, it "bogs" because you dont have any VTEC. here is what i have to offer:
reset the ecu and then turn on the car on. keep the revs at about 2k-3k until the radiator fan kicks on. let it run for a minute or 2 and then turn the car off. let me know if this works. i had this happen once and this is what the guys at goodyear service center offered me for advice. its in their computer.
hope it helps!

According to this page (http://www.ecutecparts.com/ccodes/acura.html) 21 is VTEC solenoid
21 VTEC solenoid valve (Integra)
22 Front valve timing oil pressure switch (Integra)
21 VTEC solenoid valve (Integra)
22 Front valve timing oil pressure switch (Integra)
yeah, the infamous code 22: Oil Presure Switch.
It can be caused by low oil level, having a Vtec controller hooked up incorrectly, or not having enough oil pressure.
HTH, -C

I appreciate the help guys but again I know whatthe causes are and troubleshooted them.....but what gets me is that once I reset my ecu the code is gone and dosn't come back until a day or 3 or 4 at times.... Any cluse based on saying that?? Man I wish I could say my oil level is down but it isn't
**** this sucks and its for a 99 gsr
