Default ItR LsD into a 94-01 LS tranny

My friend needs some help. He had a gsR tranny, but decided to get an LS tranny for a turbo setup. He has an ItR lsd, and wants to put it in the LS tranny, what needs to be done to make it work?
So far we know the FD from the gsR has to go with the lsd. any help would help out lots, thanks.

the GSR tranny will work better with his turbo. alot of people say the longer gears keep you in boost longer.. blah blah, but a friend of mine has a gsr turbo and he has done he research. but since you have the ls tranny already, take the 4.266 fd from the LS diff (bolts are reverse thread) and swap it onto the ITR lsd. next put the LSD inplace of the stock diff and button it all back up. pretty simple.

if u use the GSR 4.400 final drive ur goign to have to use a main shaft with a 4.400 gear on it. the ls 4.266 will not work.

why wont the LS fd bolt to the itr lsd? differnt size? bolts a differnt offset?

pretty sure you can put lsd into a b18b tranny as long as you take the 5th gear from gsr or itr.

From what I know is yes the DC2R/EK9's LSD are big size LSD. Both DC2 SiR/EK,EG SiR's LSD that comes in options are all small size LSD.

Here's how a guy installed the Type-R LSD into a 3rd gen Prelude Si (B21 engine): http://ucsu.colorado.edu/~swinbank/lsd.htm

I don't know how similar the B21 tranny is to the LS tranny, but that info is still the best I've seen. From looking at that, it seems like you just need to swap the bearings, machine down the top, and then modify the final drive holes or something to get it to bolt up.

Yes, this is correct! I put an ITR LSD in my LS tranny and this is what I had to do. The ITR LSD only bolts up to a 4.400 final drive gear. Seems easy enough to swap FD ring gears with a GSR/ITR, right? Wrong.

You also need a 4.400 countershaft from a 4.400 FD equipped car. Then you slide your LS gears onto that.
