Default adjusting throttle cable????

i have a 5thgen and my idle is fine but my throttle cable shows more than a 1/2in of play...

i want to tighten it...but will this affect idle...being that the 5thgen has a seperate idle adjusment screw???

No it is shut all the time unless the cable holds or pulls the throttle body plate open.

No idle won't be affected as long as you don't tighten it up too much..... the throttle return spring holds the plate closed until you step on the gas
