i was reading a thread today (GSR-T) that mentioned the stock ECU will tend to pull timing when the (air?) is really hot after driving for awhile. i have a JRSC setup running a BTC and i'm wondering if the ECU is doing this to me (especially since the intake charge would be so hot). so i was wondering....assuming i've the the BTC set conservatively, would it be safe to keep the service connector jumped that prevents timing from being pulled? would i get a CEL with this? or am i completely wrong and does the ECU only advance timing at idle? the only reason i'm considering this is because i've been losing power somewhere and havent been able to trace it, but this seems to make sense as a possible cause of loss in power. tell me what you guys think.

no one has any idea how stock honda ecus work as far as timing is concerned?

 

It wont mess with it at idle. It will continue to sit wherever it is you set it. I know this because I have some OBDII software on my laptop and drove around with a passenger watching that stuff for me before and after my turbo. Whoever said this was wrong.

BUT will it change my timing under certain conditions, say hot intake temps?
