Default Aftermarket Radio/CD player wiring experts, give a dumbass a hand...

I have an Eclipse CD player with the Eclipse 7002 fold out screen (stunna style). Well, it didn't quite fit snug when I installed it 1.5 years ago so I superglued the outer plastic casing to the dash and all was well. During a mad burn out session earlier this week, the superglue decided to give way and the two units came hurling towards the center console. Definately good for a laugh. While putting the units back in, 3 wires came out from the harness of the unit: red, yellow & black. But there are like 13 other colors (similar to a VAFC harness) as well and I don't know what the pin sequence is. I think red is ACC, yellow is power and black is ground, but that doesn't help with the pin sequence. On a side note, the clock quit working and my check engine light for 2 codes (67 & 90) went away. WTF? When the radio is off, the clock doesn't stop working right? and the codes go away? or is the wiring just all screwed up to begin with and I should get a professional to do it?

Red is constant power, yellow is switched power (I think), and black is ground.

Stunna

Ah ****. I didn't even read

Where did the wires come from? The car side of the harness or the radio side?

Exactly what I was wondering.. If it was car side, that's ok, just don't use the harness, splice them - or look at the pin sequence on the other side. If you're at the headunit side, you're going to need to locate a users manual..

I'd email their technical support people about the manual/pin layout at http://www.eclipse-web.com

When the wires came out the backup wire shorted on ground and blew the underhood backup fuse (next to battery). The clock won't work with this fuse blown and your ECU will reset every time you turn off the car.

Fix the wires and replace the fuse.

Normally it's like this:
Red- Swtiched/ACC/Power
Yellow - Backup/Memory
Black - Ground

That's my guess anyways.

So Yellow = constant power, right?

How many open pins are there (including the wires that came out)?

3 came out and there are 5 or 6 openings (I think). There are other colors like orange, pink, brown, green, blue, etc...I'll check tonight when I get home. I'm working right now, can't you tell?

Ed was right. Finally got around to checking the back up radio fuse and sure enough it shorted. So fix the fuse and the radio & clock in the dash should start working?

What's the best place to find a 7.5 fuse? Pep boys? Discount Auto Parts? AutoZone?

Or a gas stations, or sears, or 7-11. Almost any place that has motor oil, has fuses.
