Question for the high boost guys
For the people putting out at least 400whp and/or pushing at least 20psi, I was just wondering how long you guys are going--in terms of mileage and total time--before rebuilding your turbos.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
That's what I meant. How long does it take before they start smoking and have shaft play? I should have said this in the first place.
turbos last a LONG time when properly cared for. A LONG time. Most semi-trucks with their t4's boost 30+psi all day long and you don't see them swapping out turbo's daily! Your motor will go way before you turbo, most likely.
i disagree, i bet most turbos need to be rebuilt about every 3 years. most people run theres until there is a problem (smoking, blown seal, etc) but i think the turbo needs a build quicker. I got my kit used for 8 months, i ran it for 6 months then sent it in (shaftplay). i may be wrong too....
but lets be reasonable. how many of us would actually keep a turbo for longer that 6-8 months. everyone on here is always upgrading.
