Is it a buzzz? For a while I had a problem where you could hear the cd laser motor adjusting, kind of. In between tracks, the worst was from the last track to the first.

in all honesty it might just be your cell phone. Mine did it with the Alpine deck I had. I'd hear a loud buzzing from my speakers before my phone ever rang, and it only did it if I had my phone in the pocket under the radio (or near it). My guess is when you're chaning tracks, the complete silence from the audio source is allowing you to hear the interference from your cell phone.

yeah it happens also when i'm not using the cellphone. even if the cell phone wasn't in my car it would still do this. i tried to see if there's a crimp somewhere along the rca cable...i thought i fixed it then later when i went to start it up, it started making that sound again everytime i would change tracks. its really pissing me off ! someone help! someone here's gotta know....

you could always replace the RCA's with a new set. I've seen them cause similar problems before. Usually happens with cheap *** cables.

yeah maybe its the cheap rca wires...we'll see when i get some rockford cables...i had some stinger cables before and never had a problem with any noises...i hope that fixes it cuz now it sometimes goes away then comes back...

I think you have problems with your headunit. When you change tracks, the radio is supposed to "mute" the rca outputs so you dont hear any grumbling, groaning, hummings noises. If you suspect the rcas are at fault, turn everything on, unplug the rcas at the radio. If the noise is gone, the radio has a problem. If the niose is not gone, the rcas are bad.

It could also be the amp for the subs. I'd unplug the RCA's at the amp and if it stops then you know what the problem is.

yeah 9 times out of 10 it's the headunit that makes sounds like that...especially if it's being caused by the switching of tracks....

hmmm...well for two days now the sound goes away and comes back...i think it might be my headunit...you guys think i should trade it for an alpine cdm 7871 ?? i might have a chance to trade my clarion for an older alpine...but i will try unhook the rca at the amp and see if the sound is still there...thanks guys

well i disconnected the rca at the amp and noise went away. i put it back on, and the noise is back...does this mean my amp is bad? or just the rca output on the amp ?

are your rca's ran on the same side as the power... ? if so this tends to cause that "pop" ing sound or the fuzzy sound inbetween tracks... if this is the case you will want to run the rca cables down the other side of the car ... also if they are touching near the amp .. buy some wire loom and cover your power wire up .. i have had this problem from time to time when i am running two amps or a x over try that out and see if this cures your problem... the cell phone .. thats another story something new to me!

the rca jacks on the amp are inputs. the amp is going to play what the head unit tells it to. you need to turn the system on, unplug the rcas at the radio, and listen. If the noise is there, bad rca's. if the noise is not there, bad radio.
