A pic of my sub and amp setup...
Well this weekend I finally got my JL Audio 500/1 amplifer back from being serviced. They had it for like 3 months.
I got all my new speakers installed as well. Apparently, the previous stereo shop I went to did a janky *** installation job. That is what caused my amp to take a dump. This is the first time my whole setup has been running without any kind of problem. Anyhow, I'm just really happy that everything is in and working perfectly! BTW, the XR650 speakers sound incredible. Thanks to the people who suggested them to me.

They were waiting on parts from JL Audio. 3 months seemed like an eternity.

Wow...those are really long times. ( well not really) I guess it all depends
on if the "factory" was doing repairs or not. My horror story was I paid over
$300.00 buck to a shop to fix a soundstream ref 604 amp only to have it
blow up twice....1st time i got it back i reinstalled it in my truck...push play
heard one note then * BAMN * my truck filled with smoke.
Since the repair was a few hours old i went back to the shop next day.
2.5 months later it was in my hands...still was not right...now diagnostics lights
did not work.....( i had it benched before i left the shop...i wasd not happy with
the results...I think my amp was sold/stolen etc and this was a replacement.
just took it to get the hell otta there..i was so beyond pissed.
Long story short...send it back to the factory if possible and many authorised
retailers have great policies with manufactures. Basically most high end gear
has a 90 day warranty if not installed by the selling dealer..also
many places have performance plans available...I say take advantage
of them...they do come in handy.

Sorry, I don't remember how much the box weighs. With the subs and amps, it's quite heavy. All worth it IMO. I also put a ricey Streetglow Blue Neon to good use. I placed it inside the box above the amps and it adds a nice effect at night. You can kinda see it in the pic.
I have 2 10" JL Audio W3v2's, a 500/1 and 300/4 amplifier. The front speakers are JL Audio 6.5" XR650 Components and the rear are 6.5" XR650 Co-axials. The only thing not JL Audio is my headunit which is a Clarion VRX935.

i was wondering what was blue in the pic, and it's not ricey if done correctly, one well-placed neon tube is nice.. 53 of them placed in a ying-yang symbol, now THAT'S riceville!!

do the w3 10's hit that hard?....im lookin at some w3 12's but 10's would be cheaper and i was just wondering how hard they hit.

I don't know what your definition of "hard" is, but it hits hard enough for me. I have the bass all the way down and it still shakes the car. I think it's primarily due to my 500/1 amplifier. This amp kicks ***.

Are you sure? Can anybody else confirm this? I've seen so many setups with the amps mounted on the box.

The only issue with mounting an amp to the box is if the box is not securely mounted you can damage the wiring going to the amp. As far as vibration. My subs vibrate everything inside the car
So no amp is safe from my wrath.
