Default Sub setup help. Reliable?

I am wondering how reliable this new setup of mine will be. I had some old kenwood 12s rated at 400rms each at 4ohms each powered by a kenwood 1000 watt amp. I have ordered a new setup and all but the subs are in. I have a pioneer AVH-4300dvd that I will be replacing as well and will be up for sale soon.

Here is what the new setup consists of:
Alpine MRX-M240 amp (2400 watt at 2 ohms x 1. Monoblock)
2 Alpine type R SWR-12D2
Streetwires ZN5 amp kit
Pioneer AVH-4400BH

My question is, will this setup run reliably? Crutchfield told me that it's better to run a little over the max rms than under. Is this true or just a ploy? I have no audio experience and need some advice. Thanks.

looks good to me. crutchfield is correct. better to have more wattage than necessary. your subs will only draw as much as they can handle.

over drawing (higher rms speakers/lower rms of amp) = dead amp eventually

Awesome. That is what I needed to know before I wire them up.

I can use a dvc 2ohm load wiring diagram and run the wires from the terminals off the box correct and not from sub to sub?

i believe you are asking if you can do some of the wiring outside the box due to it's type.

if that's the case, yes. you can either run 4 wires from the two -/+ terminals on your amp, run wires from terminal to terminal on the box or use a distribution block of sorts.

It only has one terminal.

yeah a single mono -/+ terminal. technically both -/+ are each considered a terminated end i.e terminal.

or were you referring to your box? if so, just wire through it as normal. wiring the subs per the diagram.

You don't have the electrical to support 1500watts

let alone 2400.

I don't even wanna know what crutchfield charged you for all of that.

It wasn't too expensive. Total was close too 1400. It's a huge upgrade to my dd while I wait for my internals to come in the mail for my project.

How do I not have enough electrical support? The battery? I am using 0gauge wires.

how many amps is your alternator? 80?

At full tilt, that amp will be asking for close to 200 amps. You think wiring and a small battery will handle that? No.

Also, 1400 for 3 items is **** load of money.

I could've pieced together something way better for less. You should start over, tbh.

Its in an 08 Scion Xb. Not sure of the alternator output. Not worried about it though as it puts out better sound as to what I had before.

1400 isnt a whole lot, especially when it comes to cars. Have that much in just machine work in the B16 head I have.

1400 is a whole lot when it's spent on entry level items.

For ***** and giggles,

Assuming you keep the 4400. It's 429 at sonicelectronix

That leaves $971

Sundown audio component set 199
http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com...onent-set.html

This leaves you with 454 for sub(s)

with that, i'd pick something from the sundown sa line up
http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com...sa-series.html

they're 100x the sub any of the alpines are...in sq and spl.

See how i was able to stretch 1400 to get u more stuff? Better stuff..

I hear good things about Sundown. However, I dont know who the other companies are. I like to stick with what I know works. I am sure it is a nice setup though.
