Default Explanation of wastegate sizes?

I am new to the whole forced induction thing, and have a question for you veteran turbo guys. I searched and couldnt find any helpful information. I have a drag 3 kit on my civic, and the shitty deltagate took a dump on me. I want to replace it with a Tial wastegate. Can someone please explain to me the difference between say a 35 mm wastegate, and a 40 mm wastegate. I understand what size springs to use for desired boost levels, just not the millimeter size. Thanks

the mm number tial uses I believe is the measure of the valve inside the wastegate that releases the exess boost pressure.

a huge wastegate is not always ness. try the 35-38mm wastegates.

thanks, looks like the38mm wastegate is what ill go with. If I want to run about 7 lbs of boost under normal driving conditions, should I go with the .5bar spring, or go lower? I have a greddy profec b boost controller to find tune the amount of boost. Thanks

0.5Bar will put you at about 7.5psi and that will be your base (minimum) boost level.

So should I maybe go a step lower, and then just turn it up with my boost controller to 7 psi?
