Default Keeping intake pipe cool

I have an Akimoto Funnel Ram 3 CAI in my car. The only downside is that the piping gets real hot. Can exhaust wrapping be used to block the engine heat? I don't want to ditch the system for another brand.
Thanks.

I have a 98 dx coupe with a custom ram air!! I was having similar problems too!! I still need to get some wrap for the actual pipe but I custom built a heat shield to keep the cold air going into the filter and to keep the heat from the engine away!!!
check it out!!!!

also check out these other Custom jobs by CKS Racing!!

hope this helps!! or at least gives you some ideas!!
or you can order some intake wrap from anywhere. Summit has some for 40-50 $

Just remove your hood, best cold-air kit you can have.
