those #s seem high. I thought 235 was "normal" Motor being "fuct" as you say would read lower #s, not higher. I could be wrong though and usually am.

I dont see anything wrong with those numbers. I think the general rule of thumb is no more than a 20lb variance between any 2 cylinders and you should be ok. pinging is caused when you are running lean. have you checked out your A/F?

you are talking about oil and you had no mention of oil anywhere in the original post. if you want help you need to be more specific. do the leakdown and see what that tells you.

It was more of a post to show my #'S. After the leakdown test i'm sure ill be asking for help. The mech. that did the compression test told me to send the head out and get it machined and to fix whatever else they found wrong. The mech that is going to do the leakdown thinks the compression rings are fine but thinks the oil rings are done, as well as needing to send the head out. But tomorrow or by the weekend will know fo sho. **** sucz

get a new mechanic bro. what the hell does this mean? "send the head out and get it machined and to fix <u>whatever else they found wrong</u>". dont you want to know what they supposedly found wrong? Or do you like just sending your head out for the hell of it.

Meaning get the valve guides and seals replaced. And once they have the head open if anything else is wrong????He said it's pinging so bad that he doesn't know what all is going to be fucked up once thay get the head open. Thats what he said. I'm getting the leakdown test done by a import mechanic who definately knows more than the guy who did the compression test and has worked on some of my friends cars. But any additional help would be great consiering i'm no mechanic. thanx

by the way the car has CTR pistons. When I compression tested it a little over a year ago she was around the same ballpark. The oil rings are done I can tell you that for sure. I wish I would have known marc back then, we could of had a battle to see who had the real "tanker"

Nothing will ever outdo 3 quarts per gas tank
And if the rings are done, it shouldn't have anything to do with the head. When D replaced my block, the head was fine other than a little poo on the valves.
