Ok, so I used to have an aftermarket cd player in my car, then I sold it and put in the stock cd player. Now everytime I step on it, the cd player pops out, and lands directly on my shifter. Is there a bolt i'm missing in the back?? Someone please shed some light on how you guys have gotten your stock cdplayer to stay put.

 

look under and behind your console. There are 2 screws that screw into the metal plate on your CD-Player. This will keep that unit in there. I cant remember if you have to take the ashtray out and dissasemble that whole area... I think you might have to. Hope this helps.

 

There are 2 screws grommets that are should be located directly behind the CD player. They will lock in place when you put the screw through them. I have that problem, when I launch hard. Its a B!tch to get to though. BTW, I got a JDM DC2 Gathers Radio for sale.

hahaha i had this same problem...the whole dash kit would fly out..so i said F that screwed a screw into the bitch doesnt move a bit

 

dont you have to clip the radio? btw i have this same problem.i solve my problems the ghetto way. i put a plastic bottle in my cup holder to hold it off my shifter for races and such (temporary solution). its a bitch cuz when you bone out you cant get into third without putting it back in. =

there should be two prongs on the insdie of the "cage" that hold the head unit in. Bend them inside towards the headunit. Then push the headunit back in so that it latches.

 

my aftermarket radio kept fallin out. bending all the tabs around the edge of the cage fixed it.

 

I rigged mines up with zip ties in the the back with a bracket i made, i used a double deck cd player with some other stuff on the bottom

 

Ehh? All you have to do is torque down those two 8mm bolts on the flange on the back of the headunit. (well ... make sure they're in the slots first) I used an 8mm socket on a 1/4" socket wrench with a 3" extension, and I had no trouble getting to the bolts after removing the console. ...hasn't come out once, and I do love to launch hard

You'll never get them tight enough with a screwdriver. Use a proper wrench and pinch 'em down.
