Default what should i be pulling w/this setup

another topic was posted just like this, cept i didnt wanna intrude on his, so i figured i'd start a new one ( https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=646129 )

'94 gsr
b18c1 balanced and blueprinted block
b16 head
skunk2 stage 2 cams/retainers/springs
skunk2 IM
JDM ITR .25mm overbored pistons/rods
JDM ITR tranny (4.785 w/lsd)
i/h/e
msd ignition
act clutch / lightened flywheel

i have my hondata s200 waiting to be installed/tuned, but when it does, what do you think i'll be pulling as far as whp and 1/4 times? my goal is 200+ whp, and under 14 quarter mile. think it's attainable?

If you get a good tuner then your goals are definately attainable. I made 190whp on just ITR cams so you could easily hit 200whp if you have a good tuner and a strong motor. Now I am hoping you have some suspension work done to, you won't be hitting 13's in the 1/4 if you don't have a good setup to put all that power to the ground. Also, a set of light weight rims and some good tires (Falkens) will make it that much easier. If you can hook up and have over 200whp then you should easily see 13's. If you stripped the car down a bit and put some slicks on it you could flirt with 12's. Definately take out the p/s, a/c, etc if you want to get everything out of your car. Your setup above is a very good setup. Make sure whoever puts that setup together knows what they are doing, if so then you'll have a very powerful car. Also, a good header back setup is important

Both your goals are feasible. Just getting it tuned and making sure everything works together. Are you going to do any headwork? (if not, then definately invest in headwork )

i have tein HA suspension, 15" rota slipstreams with falken's lol so yeah, that should help out my grip its still a grocery getter, so i wanna keep my a/c, interior, etc, but thanks for the reply and keeping up my hope on good numbers is a headertech header worth the 500 bucks? what kind of gains would i see with that on my motor? oh b.t.w, i do have a p&p head and 5 angle valve job, forgot to add that

Just dont be surprised if it gets locked...

Anyway, if your gonna rip apart the block, you may as well get stronger pistons/rods. That way your setup for F/I in the future if you want. Or you could do pistons/rods/100 shot and be good for low 13's. I just dont see the point in doing all that work for not much gain.

I think its a good setup and well worth the money if its tuned correctly. why is it that all you guys say it aint worth all the money to go all motor (just go turbo, blah blah). I've seen plenty of turbo cars that make around 250-300whp not even hit 13's because they can't even get the power to the ground, plus i'd go out on a limb and say that well tuned all motor setup will outlast a well tuned turbo setup.

Your looking at better times then stated above. I ran a 14.5 with GSR cams in my teg. That was on heavy 16's and kumho supra 712's . To add another thing...I missed 5th gear at the end of the track, so I had to coast by the finish line in neutral (itr tranny, 4.785fd, lsd...4th ends at 95mph)....With the ITR cams, STR cam gears, 15inch rims wrapped in falken azenis coupled with tuning. I will easily be in the 13's all motor, and you want skunk2 stage 2's which will allow you to reach more power and probably a better powerband for the track. My GSR weighs 2,590 with me in it also, so that helps a bit. But you people who just continue to say turbo this turbo that...you guys don't help at all. He didn't ask to be turbo'd. He wants to know how the setup he posted will work.......

That setup you have going looks very good to the eye. You should be able to push out some great power and reach your goals in the 1/4 also. Goodluck on some feedback man, and I don't see any reason why this post would get moved. This is a teg forum, and the post is about modifying a teg.

I'd much rather read this...then those ignorant posts on "should I buy this teg", when god only knows, because we can't see it, we don't know **** about it, etc.

Do not use the B16A head. IT will drop the compression a few tenths.

Run the GSR head

The B16 head has better IM though.

He would probably just switch to a Skunk2 one anyway.

It says in his original post that he would use a skunk2 IM.

I think his setup could put out some great numbers if tuned properly.
