How to mount Harnesses on 3rd gens?
How is the best way that you guys mount 4pt harnesses w/ stock interiors in your tegs?? I'm going to get racing seats in the future, but for now I want to run the harnesses for Auto-x. Let me know of where you guys mount them, and how you guys did it.
The two should straps I put on my stock rear seatbelt holes
The lap belt I put the left side to the stock front lower seatbelt hole, I don't where where to put the right lap belt mount tho, right now its connected to the seat.

4-pt. harness
harness w/o cage
Mounting shoulder straps to the rear upper seatbelt anchors isn't a good idea, either, since they'll be going off to the side at an odd angle.
I'm being serious, you really need at least a 5-pt harness to be safe, but NEVER EVER EVER w/o a cage or some kind of roll protection.

Let him mount it however he wants, if people want to have a harness w/o a cage its their choice.
With all this talk about safety and roll bars, and harness's it gets me thinking about other things in life besides cars. So you have a harness without a cage, big deal, chances are you are not going to flip your car and get your head caved in. It's all a chance game, if you get into an accident where (hopefully not, hypothetically speaking) a tree branch goes through your front window and stabs you the throat, the roll cage/harness isnt doing anything. It's the same with with other stuff also, do you go to the doctors to get your check up every 6 months? Do you go to the denstist yearly? Do you wear a condom when having sex? Is taht glare from the afternoon sun not letting you see straight? If you are going to be overly concenered about saftey and your well being, look at the big picture and realize there are more dangers than running a harness w/o a cage, especially on the street.
sorry, its just i asked a similar question and got about a page of being called an idiot for running a sparco and a harness and I need to rant

if you just use them for autox...there is still the danger of killing yourself, but...
you can pick up a B-pillar harness bar from several places. This bar mounts across the stock top front seat belt locations, and allows for an ideal harness mounting angle.
for the lower ones just mount to stock location and the rear seat base mounting hole in the middle (with longer Grade 10 bolt)
I highly recommend an anti-sub belt...they are cheap and can be mounted by drilling the floor and using a backing plate.

you do realize that even if it's installed incorrectly all it will take is someone rearending you, and your spine will snap.
The install angle must be greater than 40degrees.
The rollcage provides rollover protection and a install angle of greater than 40 degrees.

right, because it provides the proper mounting angle for the shoulder straps (ideal is to have them parallel to the ground after the straps pass over your shoulders), and also keeps the roof from caving in on your head if the car rolls over. With OEM seatbelts you can still move over to the side if the car rolls over, but if you're strapped in, you're not going anywhere and in comes the roof.

the shoulder straps must be bolted or tied below the drivers shoulders . using the harness with a cage and a race seat would be a much better idea..
