Default B16A w/Hondata & 10psi too much for 440 injectors?

I just spoke with the place that's going to be tuning my car and was told that I shouldn't go over 8psi with the 440 injectors. He said it would be ok if I had a Vortech FMU to bump up the fuel pressure, but of course that doesn't work with Hondata. I'm confused! I thought that 10psi would be safe with these? Should I just have it tuned at 8psi?

You can bump up the fuel pressure to get a little more out of the 440's. Use either the B&M, Aeromotive, AEM etc Fuel Pressure Regulators.
440's are generally good for 300 horse.

I think you will be fine.

it really depends on how much the turbo u plan on using flows...

ex. 10psi is just fine for my tiny greddy turbo on my d16 w/ 440 cc injectors.

what turbo setup are u running? what are your hp goals?
tuners will usually make sure your a/f is safe and your injector duty cycle isnt too high > 80% ... you cant really say if 10psi is too much or not ... unless u tune it.

if your tuner knows hondata i wonder why he suggested an fmu???

I think your tuner was suggesting raising your base pressure up a few psi, not a rising rate.

I am using 450's on a B16. I upped my base pressure to 50psi. At 10psi boost, I hit a max of around 87% duty cycle. This is with A/F tuned to high 11's low 12's.

He just mentioned the fmu as something that can be used to make smaller injectors flow better and wasn't suggesting I use it with Hondata.

It's a TD05H-18G Greddy on a B16A with ITR intake manifold and 2.5" downpipe (no cat). I have an AEM FPR and a Walbro 255-HP fuel pump, which I was hoping would help. Hp goals?...Whatever I can get without running on the bleeding edge of destruction. 250+ would be nice, but we'll see!

440's are good for 300 whp. I made 290 whp in my LS at 12 psi using 440's and my tuner said I could of went to 14 psi with them. 440's will be plenty for 250 whp. If you plan to go in the 300 whp range just buy the 550's right now. It's always better to have the ability to dump more fuel in later down the road as you upgrade.

440's at 300 on a b16 or b18 i think will run at 90% duty cycle...i don't think thats safe....my plan for my Type R with boost is only 320-350 to the wheels and i'll be satisfied..think i should bump it up to 550's?? and how much duty cycle on 440's would it be around 300 whp on a b18c5?? just to be sure.

Thanks for the replies! I guess I'll be safe.

R-1303, when I bought my injectors the saturated RC 550s weren't available yet or I would've gotten those. Get the 550s! Someone on here was selling them for $225 or so a while back, but I don't know how much they are now. I would assume that they are the same price as 440s so why not get them?

Im making over 300whp on 450's on a b16 ( i know its not the safest thing in the world and there running at a high duty cycle) I didn't plan on using the 450's ...they were a last resort in order to get tuned (Had some 52lbs from Viren that were complete **** )

I am at 88-90% duty cycle running 440's at 10-11 psi. It depends on your setup. I was told that 440's would be good for 13-15 psi but on my car its not even close. Just be sure you are getting enough fuel.
