hey i have a 12 inch subwoofer in a box and my amp in the trunk.

i have to take it out for a trip. so i removed the two wires from the sub and covered them with paper. is this safe? what should i do?
i dont want to burn down on the ride home or anything : /

Wrap each in electrical tape.

So you just removed the speaker wire. Just wrap each side in duct tape. That will not come off to easily. Don't let the two wires touch each other.

 

the only tape i have is scotch

i placed regular old paper inbetween the wires. is it good enough or should i look for duct* tape?

but too late, i found a suite mate that had electrical tape : P

 

My sub amp fuses are inside the amp. It is faster for me to tape the speaker wires, or remove them from the amp than to pull the damned underhood fuse.

 

pull the remote wire from the amp and tape that, or just pull the fuse under the hood.

 

just leave it...
and get a new amp...
