Fuses keep blowing out! HELP!
So i installed an Aiwa CDC-MP3 deck in replace of my old Panasonic one. Everything went fine and took only an hour or so for me to connect the wires. The only problem I ran into is when I plugged in the pre-outs to my amp, the fuses snaps. Even after the fuses snapped, the sounds are all distorted. It's weird because my amps don't power the speakers, it just powers one sub and that's all. I didn't change anything from the wiring of my old deck to the new deck. Could it be a manufacturer defect? HELP anyone...
ok, this is the fuse generally located under the hood right?
few things to consider:
--take the headunit back out, visually look at all the wires. Im real big on tapeing wires together after connections have been made. This eliminates the chance for contract or touching parts of the car prehind the dash. So check all that for any exposed wires.
--be sure that when you removed the headunit you didnt pull any wires like the remote amp turn on for example. You might have pulled that forward and caused other wires to move slightly as well...just an idea.
--reinstall previous headunit. This is a trouble shooting procedure. If you notice NO problems once you have done this then that will probably eliminate the wiring theory and bring in the defective headunit theory...granted you purchased it new.
If that turns out the be the case just return it. Sometimes you can just get a lemon, short end of the $hit stick. Hardly ever happens but no company is perfect.
Try these things starting with checking for the obivious wire problems and then the headunit. Then let us know some results.

OK, i kind of remedied the problem today... not completely fixed, maybe one of you guys can help me figure out...? I cut all the speaker wires, and ran the sub.. it works. then i connected each speaker one by one. no distortions for front speakers, however the back speakers, i'm required to switch the ground and power for either one speaker, or else there's a short. so maybe the head unit's wiring harness were defect?
