so my driver side axle won't pop out of the half shaft on my 00 si. i had this problem the first time i changed a driver side axle, but eventually got it to come out after about an hour of me and my friends yanking on it. this time, it seems like it won't go. i've searched and i've tried: prybar, screwdriver, small hammer with chisel, and yanking. none of these have worked.

i'm thinking i should just buy the biggest hammer i can find and hit the axle outwards from the half shaft. anyone else have any suggestionS? thanks in advance

Get a bigger hammer and beat the inner joint off of the intermediate shaft.

thats what you gotta do

 

driver side is a pita! i used a crowbar to pry it apart G/L

 

Just use a prybar, it will comply. If not, use explosives

 

Try prying at it from two sides at the same time. That way it will be coming out straight. Ive never had a problem, but theres always next time.

yeah they usually get scared and fall out when they see you are pissed and you have decided to get a hammer !!!

 

get a bigass locking plier (vise grips) and lock it unto the shaft, then bang on the plier with a big hammer in th direction you want it to go,should pop out in one hit.
