Fitv=fast idle thermo valve
its under your tb. take it out and shake it, if it rattles take it apart and screw the little white thingy in there.

Mine has the same problem, I've done everything else but that FITV. I'm gonna take a look at mine this weekend. If you get to yours before then let us know if that fixes the problem.

erratic idle, i'd say the fast idle valve... but also look for: low coolant, vaccuum leaks... i had the same problem, but took apart the fast idle valve and cleaned and rebuilt haven't had the problem since.

The problem I'm pretty sure as I just fixed it is air in the coolant. Had the same issue when my water pump leaked. Making a air pocket for the IACV. Air in there makes it do that. ONce it heats up it won't be needed any further. Try bleeding your coolant and check for a broken head gasket or water pump that would cause the coolant lose. This fixed my problem by bleeding the system and had to do it every couple of days tell I could fix my water pump delimia.

It's from your IACV. Do you get a temp reading on your gauge even when the heater is blowing cold air? Another good indicator of it.

Try it and let me know I'm pretty sure it's your issue.

Doesn't sound like a FIV to me it'd stay that way after Operating temp if that was the case.

I thought that the FITV was only used until your car was at the correct operating temp? So why would it affect anything after that??

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Need4Boost &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I thought that the FITV was only used until your car was at the correct operating temp? But we're talking about a valve that isn't working the way it's supposed to.
