ive got a uk spec eg6 with a b16a2 with very irratic idle it all started after my water pump died so got a new one in but ever since my warm idle has been over 2000 and closer to 3000 at cold and recently its started alternating between 1 and 2ooo, ive checked my ecu wiring and all seems good.

any help you can offer will be a bonus

idal air control valve, or throttle position sensor. that is what my guess would be.

 

would that not throw up a code though?

 

Not nessarily, i had the same prob at cold idal, and it didnt through a code.

 

is it surging or just too high? you can adjust the throttle cable if it's steadily high.

 

tried adjusting throttle cable but still same it is revving around 3 when cold but even when warm it will rev from 1000 to 2500 and then after a couple of minutes hold steady at 1900 but as soon as i drive anywhere again itll start revvin?
I also tried to have a go at my iacv but i really no little about this so any guidance is great
