EG is not a model. its the chassis number for the JDM B16 92-95 civic hatchback. in america the chassis number is EH2. EG is just the common name for all 92-95 hatchbacks.
model line up goes.. CX, VX, DX, Si. just seach on google or somthing for more info. theres plenty of websites that have lots of info.

EG is a body style of the civic...its years go from 92-95. It has different trim levels such as cx,dx,vx,si. SI comes with the best factory equipment.

so if somone said they had a tranny from an eg, it would still have to be from an si or an ex for me to be able to have the proper gear ratio? I have a 1995 civic ex.

sorry this is my first honda, I am used to domestics, my camaro runs 11's and still passes california smog. But i needed something more economical yet still sporty, so i bought the 95 ex, only paid $1000 for it but it needed a tranny, and a few lil things.

you can use any tranny from a 92-00 D-series engine. cx, dx, si, vx, hx, whatever you want. but the best one to use would be the SI/EX one because of its better gearing and final drive

If their car is from Japan. And it would be from a SiR model.
In the states it's an EH, not EG. Peeps says they got EG's cause it sounds cooler.
EG SiR= B16A (2nd Gen) DOHC VTEC (168hp)
EH Si = D16Z6 SOHC VTEC (125hp)

Accually i believe most people say EG because they don't know anybetter at least around my way that is the case. I still like it when a guy came up to me in a parking lot and told me i had a nice EK9. to him.
