Possible causes for white/grey smoke.
Ok, I'm blowing white/grey smoke when I run at WOT.
I've searched, but I don't seem to have the problems eveyrone else with white smoke has.
<u>I don't have:</u>
Oil in my charge pipes
Oil in my compressor housing
Low compression (~240 all the way accross)
A catch can (maybe I need one?)
No coolant in oil or vice versa
A steel braided oil return. It's not crimped by any means, bent as much as one would expect with a non-braided line.
I do, however, have an oil leak that drips on my exhaust from time to time. Is this the cause? Would that not cause it to burn the oil off all the time, rather than just at WOT? FWIW, I'm running an FMU and inline pump. Where's the smoke coming from???

if oil is falling on your exhaust then it cant be coming out of it.
Its probably the turbo seals starting to go bad but if they are in good condition, then it could be the oil not draining from turbo fast enough.
Try checking for play in the turbo shaft.

I have the same problem as you.
It's either...
Turbo seals.
Valve seals.
Piston rings.
Or some random seal somewhere.
Good luck. I'm gonna to investigate my turbo. Then check the head. And if nothing's found, then I'll have to pull the block.

Pretty sure it's not my pistons rings, as I would have low compression, right? I mean come on, 240 accross is decent even for 10.6:1, right? Same with valve seals.
If my turbo seals were bad, wouldn't it blow smoke all the time?

Did you ever figure out a definitive answer? The oil level may be something to look at, I'll definatley check it out.
