If you have stock springs, yes, if not they will pop out and possibly injure you......

Yep, just go to Autozone and rent one. When I did, it was like $40, but you get all the money back when you return it.

I changed mine a strange but easy way, i used chains and d-clips with a thick cloth so i wouldn't damage them. just have to pull like hell though.

why not just cut the springs and put a new suspension on while your at it :-P

if this your first time, then yes youll need one. you might hurt someone or yourself w/o it.

You don't need a spring compressor... the springs are barely compressed in a civic or integra, you should be fine

I didn't use them and I am still walking the planet...albeit smarter....but I am walking. I undid the upper "retainer" and the spring barely missed my face. I made a seriously huge effort on the next 3 springs. I wasn't gonna take out the spring/strut combo but I ended up taking them off of the car in order to be safe. You could probably buy a set of spring compressors for what it takes to rent them...its worth it in the long run.
