Problem with ITR tranny i think. PLEASE HELP!!
I posted this question in "tech" also, but figured it could not hurt to ask it in the ITR forum, since it is a ITR tranny. Thanks in advance for ANY help people. I'm desperate. Problem:
Setup:
95 civic hatch
95 JDM GSR B18c
00 Integra Type R Tranny (LSD)
I developed this problem today driving home from work. There is something seriousley(sp?) wrong with something in the front, drivers hand side of the car. Under acceleration, either fast of slow, in any gear, the car is intermittidley pulling to the left every 1/4 of a second or so (left-left-left-left). And every couple of minutes it VERY quickley RIPS the steering wheel out of my hand to the left (left-left-left-left-LEFTRIP!). I jacked up the car and took off the wheels, and nothing seems to be loose. Both axles turn back and fourth a little, which i think is normal. I started the car on the jack stands and went through the gears. 1 through 4 there was a little noise in the tranny, and in 5th there was a loud noise like marbles in the tranny. But I do not know if the car being in the air had anything to do with that. (could have been the weight of the wheels, axles ect, in the air) So that is where I am. It is pretty much un-drivable. What do you think it might be. Let me know if there is any more info you need to know. PLEASE help. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

You my freind have a broken CV joint. When they brake you will get a violent I mean VIOLENT pull to one side or the other. DO not drive your car anymore. IT is scary.
It is ONLY under load though. If i let off the gas or put in the clutch, it goes away. Only under acceleration does it happen. Will a cv joint do it in that case?? Thanks for the help also!!

the loud marble sound is your BROKEN CV joint.
had a major problem with mine, and couldnt figure out what it was either...
then worse came to worse and i took it in to honda...
also on another note, replace both not just 1

yes, broken cv joint will only really affect the car under a load. Especially with ITR tranny's becasue of the LSD it is transefering power to both wheels allowing the bad one to get power as well. Just go get some autozone ones for $120 plus your broken ones and then you have a life time warranty. Buy ones for an integra GSR. hope it works out for you

I was told they do not have core exchanges for Type R/ GSR.....BUT I know for a fact they have Del Sol DOHC Vtec with ABS.

They do have core exchanges.....ALL teg axles are the same, you just need to get ABS ones if you have ABS, or abs/non for non-abs cars.

it doesn't matter. Just buy some for a 96 GSR. And they do have those for exchange at autozone. I just got some for a freind not to long ago. Don't worry about the abs-non abs thing unless you car itself has ABS.
