wheres my oil going?
i have to put in about a quart of oil about every 2 weeks. i have no oil leaks that i can see and i am not sure if im burning oil. i am getting really good gas milage. i just changed to colder spark plugs and did notice though that the number 3 spark plug had oil on it. there wa oil on the absolute tip though although it could have been burned off from the spark. does any one have any ideas? i really hope im not burning oil though.
Grab a compression tester and check compression in all 4 cyl's. Thats the best place to start.
Also is your car smoking at all? Check your Intercooler piping too, from your turbo to your IC and see if theres any oil in there.

can blow by really cause as much as 1 quart of oil loss about every 2-3 weeks? and is this really bad? i mena i am adding the oil back will this be ok? or can it get worse?
Check your IC piping..if theres no oil in there then I dont think its blowby *someone correct me if Im wrong...still new to boost..this goes for the whole post*. How often do you boost??? Like once a day?? every stoplight??
well it depends on my mood. but lately i been boosting a lot. not every light but when i boost i boost all teh way lol. i noticed if i go a coupe of weeks without boosint hard just driving conservatively then i dont lose as much oil but if i choose too boost kinda hard for a while thats when my oil level goes down

hmmm...that kinda sounds like blowby loss to me...increases as the boosting increases....have you looked under your block to see if your oil pan is leaking or your return/feed lines are leaking?? You really need to check your IC piping though!!

get compression done asap.. or wait a week like i did and see smoke out the valve cover..

there shouldn't be oil in intercooler piping unless breather valve is hooked up before compressor.. its even better to just unhook and just see if theres smoke out breather valve, and from oil cap.

Well thanks man...still learning about this..and thought that was a clue to blowby...but yes..oil in one of the cylinders is bad too...check your compression asap!

theres definately no smoke coming out of my valve cover hole i have checked for that even after my hardest runs and theres no oil coming out there either.
i guess just check for oil spills, like around the engine bay and under.. although no smoke... still, don't skip compression test.. maybe its turbo seals.. or valve seals
