Im curious bout hooking up a wideband sensor to a js safeguard monitor. The sensor lets off a voltage right? like the aem? So how would it be possible to hook it up to the display for the safeguard? It would be pimptite to get accurate readings through the safeguards monitor.

Narrow band sensors put out 0v when lean, and 1v when rich. Wideband sensors put out 5v when lean, and 0v when rich (I think).

I think the AEM WB can convert the signal to look like a narrow band output, so the factory ECU can run off the more accurate WB.

The AEM wideband UEGO controller has a very low current draw and features both 0-5v and 0-1v calibrated outputs to mimic the factory narrow-band sensor, eliminating the chance of a factory computer issuing a trouble code."

So I can use just the aem wideband and hook it up to the js monitor and get accurate results on the bar meter, right, or any other a/f meter for that matter?I wanna use the js meter because it's got actual numbers rather than a sweeping meter. What's the difference between the single and dual modes? I've got a 2k gsr but im converting to obd1 using a p72. Is it tru that with obd1 i only need one o2 sensor? can it be the aem one alone? If so which o2 sensor should i get rid of when i get my header and exhaust upgraded? Thanks again

I've got more to ask. What would be the easiest way to get the wideband reading datalogged. Is there some setup like the one i had in my high school physics lab in which i could log realtime a/f results x rpm, with the a/f represented as voltage and/or a/f. how would i go bout setting it up. I know bout hondata and aem, but im on a mad budget and looking for the cheapest way possible. Is there some sort of datalogging program that i could download and a cable or two to get the info i want on my computer? remember cheap. thanks

it offers narrowband outputs, it offers a display already, and it has datalogging soon to come.

Looks like plxdevices is entering the fray with a controller for the BOSCH sensor. The new BOSCH (LSU4?) is a windfall to the tuning community because it is OEM equipment on some VWs and can be had in the sub $60 price range.
