Nobody knows when and if the new R is even coming here. Why wait for something that may never happen? Get what you can get now.

Do whatever you can afford...there's no need to lease an RSX or buy a used Type R if you want to really wait. Just wait. Drive your beater around or whatever you have now. If it doesn't come out then what makes you think there won't be any R's left for sale. I'm pretty sure that if you wanted a Type R long after your wait, you can get one. Besides, this is the last year of DC2 Type R production, you're more likely to buy used already. Unless you can find a new one...any takes on whether there are some new one left...

One things for sure, you won't regret your purchase.

to tell u the truth i dont think the type r is ever goin to come out in america..i think the type s is here to replace the type r..b/c if it wasnt there to replace to the type r y doesnt it come out with a auto too? another reason...y would acura make a type r when theres already a type s like all the other acura model..type s is the best u can get..

gotrice has a point...

if you look at acura's marketing strategy so far...it seems that the "type s" iterations of each model are the "top dawgs" of each class. you either have your base, or the type s. if they brought over the type r for the rsx, then that would kinda throw off the continuity of the model line up. you'd have just one "r" version for the rsx...the other models are most likely not going to get an "r" version.

i just think that it would be odd. before acura started the "type s" thing, i think it was appropriate for honda/acura to release a unique "r" version...but now the "type s" is here and it would be wise for them to keep it up at the top. adding the "r" would give the usdm *too many* choices. i would think that would put the "type s" in a rut.

not saying that i wouldn't want it here! just trying to see how honda is thinking...i wouldn't expect it to come anytime soon...just my thoughts.

I disagree. The type S is replacing the GS-R. The arguement that the type S only comes in a manual is null and void cause the GS-R only came in a manual too so is the GS-R and the type R the same? The type R will come but I think that you are better off getting another car for now cause when it does come 1. it may not be what you want it to be 2. it may be 3 years before it makes it over here. How bout a WRX or maybe a used S2000? If not the Celica GT-S and of course the type R will be great choices. Hope I've helped somehow.

ONE OF THE BEST REASON TO GET THE NEW R IS THAT IT WON'T BE AS POPULAR AS A TARGETED STOLEN CAR AS THE CURRENT R BECAUSE PARTS WON'T FIT.

I thought the current R will be more worthwhile to keep until my R got stolen. I am just like anyone else, thinking that my car will never get stolen, it will never be me. blah blah blah... Then, one night, my car is stolen from my indoor garage which is alarmed, locked and my house has alarms and security system too.
NEVER THINK THAT IT WILL NEVER BE YOU!!! I live in Toronto and on average, I see 3 R per day and even though it's that popular, my still get chosen and picked and targeted.

enough say

if u think about it..the rsx r in australia has 200hp which is the same as out type s ...what does that tell u? they have the same engine, same horsepower and i dont think the torque is far off too..so i'm hopin for the R to make it here...not much of a chance..i dont think..only time will tell

The real trick is never to care too much for any inanimate object.
So, so true.... its really not worth it. Do you own the car? or does the car own you?
