Default PS2 in car, opinion?fact? HELP

I was wondering what precautions to take with having a ps2 in my car (besides the obvious, having it stolen) i've heard that the ps2 can be damaged if its in a car due to the vibrations fvckin up the laser, but i also know a couple people that never had any problems.

Whether its true or not let me know and please throw some ideas on how to keep it from being damaged or where i should put it in my car?

Thanks in advance, Dan

I've yet to have mine **** up, but you need to have it positioned the right way for it to operate correctly, i'd make sure you have a proper way of mounting it as well, i wedged mine between my front and backseat so it doesnt move at all, so far so good

Mount it so it doesnt move. Keep it away from feet. Keep it away from moisture. Mount it so it doent interfere with moving parts (sliding seat hitting it). Do not mount it at an angle. That should about cover it.

What about powering it? I had this same thought but how would you get a connector to change 12 volts DC to 120 volts AC?

i also had mine hardwired...i have mine under the
passenger seat using double sided tape to hold it
in place...no problems yet...and i have been on a
few long road trips...u have to think about the
vibration question...these PS2's i would assume
are built pretty durable...little kids hit these
things all the time im sure and they still work...

I mounted the one in my car right next to the CD changer in the trunk right behind the rear seat. The ports for my subs run through the rear deck so the only real thing being pressurized is the cabin so it's almost vibration free!
