and is the power lead yellow or red?
im normally good at installing these, but im used to it being called the ACC wire, and i just got confused

ACC = like when you have your key in the ACC position of your ignition your radio will have power

constant 12v will give the radio power all the time even when the car is off (no key)
to answer your question... yes it should... but why would you do that?
just do what the instruction tells you if i were you... coz if you fry anything, dont blame anybody. or you want power to your radio all the time?

that's backwards.
The red ACC connects to the wire that only shows 12 volts when the key is turned on.
The yellow batt wire connects to the wire that is always 12 volts
