Default NEED YOUR HELP!! Red wire, Yellow wire, & Black wire

Ok guys I need your help. I am installing a new electronic device(heads-up display) on my friends car and want to verify the wiring. It purchased open box, did not come with install directions nor wiring info. which wire is which?

- Red wire <-- ?
- Yellow wire <-- Power?
- Black wire <-- Ground?

red wire = power
black wire = ground
yellow wire = i do not know

the yellow might be a remote of some type

Red is always power
Black is always ground

Yellow could be the signal wire, or the bastard wire that no one knows about.

yellow usually is constant wire. depending on what it is you are puttin in.
red is 12v switched
black ground

my guess would be-

red switched power
black ground
yellow constant power (memory)

similiar to the wiring with all stereo's... just try one way and if it doesnt work right then switch them up...

if its the same wiring as a radio then

red = switched ignition 12volts
yellow = constant 12volts
black = ground

if its wiring like an alarm system then

red = constant 12volts
yellow = switched igniton 12volts
black = ground

you cant really **** nohtin up by switchin the 2 but it may not keep memory the correct way if its wrong..
